BBRC Enews -Events & Meeting 01/22/2008

  Meeting Place Sam Bucas Restaurant-Time 630pm

 President Jimbo opened the meeting on time.

    Many dollars were donated to our treasury via happy and sad dollars( a lot of Football money continues to cross hands ).

  Visitors were Mary Ann Smith who was very excited to be here.

   George Akkouris (Golden Irenes Restaurant Owner) was nominated for membership/This has passed the board and if there is an objection it must be in writing to Sect. Karen Owens by 1/31/08

   Our Speaker was George St Georges a fellow Rotarian who spoke about scouting in the town and the area. When asked what could we do he suggested maybe BBRC could honor a Volunteer or two or Sponsor a Scouting event.

    Attendence-Did You know that while Rotary meets every week that if You attend Twice a month You Are a Rotarian in Good Standing.

 Events Etc.

  Feb 9th   EW "Winter Festival" 12n-3pm /we will be having a booth

                other activities happening ice skating,face painting,bounce house,DJ

                Held at Osborne Field (this is an outdoor activity)

 May 10th  EW Community Day -Parade Float and Booth (road race food face

                 painting etc) exact times to come but probally 9-10 parade/11 booth

   Speakers Coming:

             1/29- Jason Bittner, Triple Helix /Web Design

        Many Dates are open for speakers from now till June/Do you know someone who would make agreat Rotarian but don't know how to get them to join/Ask them to come as speaker.
